Predicting future trends and behaviors – from the epic to the everyday – allows for proactive, knowledge-driven decisions. According to the Harvard Business Journal and Fortune magazine a career as a data scientist is “the” job to have in the 21st century. At the same time, it underscores the high demand for a talented, qualified STEM (science, technology, engineering, & mathematics) workforce. The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at UC San Diego launched the Predictive Analytics Center of Excellence (PACE) to leverage SDSC’s data-intensive expertise and resources to help create the 21st century workforce of data researchers by leading a collaborative, nationwide education and training effort among academia, industry, and government.
The PACE series of Boot Camps are designed to provide professionals in business enterprises and scientific communities with the skills critical to design, build, verify and test predictive data models.
